Training is something which is on going and no matter how much time you put in or knowledge you have things can go wrong. I see many clients who are despondent and down due to things going wrong. I always assure them it’s not just them and working with a living creature such as a dog it can happen to the best of us.
A great example of this has been Kali’s recall, at 2 years old she has a good reliable recall in the majority of situations and most distractions. In fact i thought she was almost perfect until a few months ago when with friends on the beach she decided that paddling in the sea was far better than returning to me- much to my shock and if i’m honest embarrassment!
Experience has taught me not to worry if things go wrong and instead look at rebuilding the training- so that is what i have been doing. Now a few months on Kali has improved massively as you can see in this short film.
The moral- remember don’t get cross, think of problems as challenges, smile and go back to your training!
